Just plunge with us into the fantastic Flamenco universe.

Akosia-Agenda

At the core of our journey is the workshop with Kuky Santiago – an internationally renowned dancer and teacher of Spanish/Belgium origin. Kuky dances on stages and at festivals worldwide – such as the “Bruselas Flamenco Festival” at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels. A place, where he already performed at the age of six! Since then, he never turned away from what has now become his lifetime passion. Kuky and his wife, Jessica Vicente, are hosting their own academy in Bordeaux.

Their agenda is always fully booked – but Kuky will make it possible and come to Sevilla exclusively for us. Within five days you will not only learn or improve your Flamenco steps, but also get a more profound understanding of the soul of Flamenco, its rhythm, sounds and deeper meanings.

The workshop in a beautiful dance hall at the heart of Seville will be accompanied by live music. To make your Flamenco experience even more complete, you will also have lots of opportunities to visit other Flamenco institutions, like the Flamenco Museum in Sevilla, drop into authentic Flamenco bars at night, get in touch with professional dancers, musicians, a flamencologue and much more. We will conclude this unique and holistic experience with our own Flamenco spectacle – performed by you!!

Gourmet dinners and a paella workshop and of course enough free time for yourself are also on our menu to make this experience for you as tasteful as possible.

What you need to consider:

You don’t have to bring a partner or worry about your dancing level. The Flamenco workshop in Sevilla is open to beginners and intermediate dancers (up to 3 years of experience) – whether you are a single person or coming with a friend. All you have to bring is a pair of solid shoes with medium-high heels and a long skirt for some of the performances – alongside with all your enthusiasm and passion for music and dance.

In order to give you a maximum of flexibility, we leave the travel arrangements to and from Sevilla to you. So wherever you come from, whether you arriving just for this unique experience or combining it with other personal engagements in the region – this is totally up to you. Still, if you have some question concerning logistics in advance, we are there to help you with advice as best as we can.

The workshop and some parts of the cultural and social side events will be conducted in Spanish and/or French. But again, don’t worry! You will not be “lost in translation”, because we have English and German speaking staff at your disposal. Monika Hoegen, founder and managing director of Akosia, will also not miss out on this historical opportunity and be with you throughout this exciting experience – the first one of its kind.

We will be glad to have you on board!
